Excel Based Modeling for Financial Valuation

DESCRIPTION:

This 3-day executive course focuses on financial modeling techniques needed for enterprise valuation. It is a hands-on, interactive course composed of lectures and case studies that will allow the participants to apply the concepts as presented. Some of the cases will focus on Valuation in Emerging Markets. These will address issues and challenges specific to emerging economies and financial markets.

The course assumes that the participants have some background knowledge in finance and accounting and some basic knowledge of Excel. The course will be offered in English.

PROFESSOR:

Simon Benninga is a professor of Finance at Tel Aviv University and the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. After studying mathematics at the University of Michigan (BA) and the Hebrew University (MSc), he received his PhD in Finance at Tel-Aviv University.

Benninga's academic areas of interest are corporate finance, term structure, and computational finance. From 1993-2003 he edited the Review of Finance, the journal of the European Finance Association, which he founded. Benninga is the author of over 40 academic papers and four books.

Consulting clients include: Bear Stearns, Arthur Andersen, Alpha Bank (Greece), Pepsi Bottling Group (USA), BA Financial Consultants (Argentina), Neptune Orient Lines, Electric Generating Co (Bangkok), Bank Leumi (Israel), and PWC, and Alvarez and Marsal.

Benninga has taught executive courses on financial modeling, valuation, and other topics at: New York Institute of Finance, Amsterdam Institute of Finance, University of Amsterdam, Wharton School of University of Pennsylvania, Swedish School of Economics in St. Petersburg and Moscow.
